Unfortunately, this will be another pictureless post. But I will do my best to inform you, faithful readers, of all the cool things that I have seen and done.
1. Skate Skiing. I've been wanting to learn, and also been wanting to learn to skijour (the one where the dogs pull you on skis). Carrie told me she would take me out, but I never had skate skis... Well, since the season is over for the students, the ski coach Nancy got all the school's skis back and let me take some home so that I could learn now instead of next year. Pretty sweet!! So now my list of things to get for next year has grown even longer... Anyway, Tuesday afternoon, being beautiful out, Carrie and I went out and I learned to skate ski. Granted, I'm not very good, and I certainly fell a lot, I did pretty alright. She even let me jour!! So I hooked up to the dogs and they tugged me along; I even skated a bit while they pulled, which was so cool! So I've been hoping for nice weather and snow so I can go out and practice - it's been wicked icy lately - and lucky, we got some more snow. :) Today is beautiful, so you better believe I'm going to be out there!!
2. Frets and worries, worries and frets, but no longer. Next year is going to be just fine. Because Dan is going to teach English in Japan next year, Adrianna and I have decided to live together. We'll save a little bit of money, and we won't be lonely. Some people seem to think that it won't work - me, I think we'll be fine. :) I'm looking forward to having a housemate again. Some changes still, but I am overall glad with how things have worked out. :)
3. It is brown spring... well, at least it's started. Things started to melt, they cleared the [dirt] roads of snow, so everything was brown and mushy and muddy and wet. But it's been colder lately, so everything has frozen over again, and we got more snow, BUT, obviously, it's warm enough to snow, so it's not too bad. But we'll have a few weeks of muck before we get to the pretty green spring, which I think, if it goes like this, I might miss. I'm glad to be coming back in July so I can see more of the pretty weather here, more fishing, more berry picking.
4. I'm going to New Zealand!!! Bec called me last night and we talked for a bit, which was sweet. And we worked out ticket times, which is even sweeter!! I've made my official travel chart, and at the moment I have a ticket booked and bought from Anchorage to LA, LA to Auckland, NZ, and then back to LA 34 days later with Bec (same flight). :) Ha, so I have some more tickets to buy, but I'll be alright. :) I'm so stoked!!! I got an amazing deal on tickets... :)
5. School is very close to being out. And I mean very close. Seniors graduate in 4 weeks (YIKES!!), and then only 1 week after that school is over. AAGGHH!!! So although I am very excited about school being over, I am also very worried about school being over. I have SO much to do!! I've got to just DO it. So I guess that's my plans for the weekend! :)
I hope all is well with you all. And HAPPY BIRTHDAY KELLI yesterday!! :)
